Students who join our Instrumental Suzuki Program will experience the benefits of weekly private music lessons with their instrument of choice (violin lessons, viola lessons, cello lessons, piano lessons or guitar lessons) in addition to a biweekly group lesson, a biweekly music theory class, optional monthly in-house performances, occasional public performances and regular opportunities for continued development for Suzuki parents. Utilizing the benefits of learning music in a group environment is an approach unique to the Suzuki Method. Students will reap the benefits of group learning such as fostering community while enhancing their musical skills.

Parental Involvement
In the Suzuki method, parents are an integral part of their child’s learning experience. The participating parent is expected to practice at home each day with their child on a daily basis and to participate in the class alongside him/her. The teacher will give assignments and guide parents in how to complete at-home activities.
Additionally, parents are expected to provide logistical support in terms of lesson and group class equipment, provide support in attending concerts on a regular basis, play appropriate recordings daily at home, and along with the teacher, create a positive musical environment of support, encouragement and understanding.
Individual Lessons
Individual lesson are 30, 45, or 60 minutes per week (based on student’s age and level) and are scheduled with an assigned teacher. Students are also encouraged and expected to attend a bi-weekly music theory class and group lesson. The music theory and group lessons are held on Saturdays with rotating schedules. Additionally there are monthly in-house concerts which are open to all students as a chance to practice performing in a safe and welcoming atmosphere. All classes and performances are included in the monthly tuition.
